This piece is one from a show that I collaborated on with the writer Nick Toches for Testsite Gallery in Austin. Typically Testsite’s M.O. is to pair a visual artist and a writer together. My collaboration with Mr. Toches reached an impasse then fell apart. Instead of abandoning the show, I reached out to my community of friends and colleagues and asked them to pick up where Nick and I left off. Each participant was asked to write a letter to someone/thing expressing their sentiments of thanks, love, hope, and faith. I recorded the audio and a carbon copy of each of the letters, the originals were sent to whom they were addressed. I then took the letters and the audio as my source material and made a show out of it.
