The White Noise Serpent Sentinels of the MACC

Wood, loudspeaker, courage. 8' x 4' x 4' 2009 The two serpent sentinels stand guard over the entrance to the Mexican American Cultural Center. Their angular pyramidal form derived from the space which was originally inspired by Chitzen Itza. Their hiss is conjured from the buzz of nearby power-lines and water-flow from the lake. Their charge is to challenge anyone wishing to gain entrance to pass through their sound gate.
